Merger Application for a Trademark Registration

Filing a Merger application for a Registered Trademark shall undergo the filing and publication stages for which the official fees are as below:

Requirement:

  • A Power of attorney duly notarized and legalized up to the Afghanistan Consulate,
  • A certified copy of the merger document duly notarized and legalized up to the Afghanistan Consulate ,
  • A copy of the Registration and/or latest Renewal Certificate,
  • Clear image of a device mark.

Note:

Any changes in the ownership must be recorded for all the trademarks falling under the same owner based on the Afghanistan trademark Law currently enforced.

Single Class/Multiple Class:

There will be no additional oficial fees for filing a Merger application for earch additional class.

Merger Application Procedure:

A Trademark Merger will undergo the filing and publication in the Official Gazette. the process may take form 3 to 6 months to complete Merger process.

Note:

Afghanistan Trademark Office will not issue a computarized certificate for any recordal application including for Merger application. instead, the recordal shall be endoresed on the original regisration or latest renewal certificate.
